          PRAYER GROUP

          MOM’S GROUP

There had been a strong desire by some women in the church to start a Mom’s Prayer Group.  Plans came together and in October of 2000 the first Mom’s Prayer Group meeting was held.  A group of women in the church would meet weekly to pray for our own children as well as children of the church, the community and the world.  We met on a regular basis up until 2006 until everyone’s schedules just became too busy to continue.

Time has passed and the realization has come to mind by many that this time of prayer meeting is needed again. For this reason, the Mom’s Prayer Group will begin to meet once again.  It is our hope to meet once a month for one hour to pray and release God’s power on our children.  I am currently in search of a devotional/study book to use.  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please send them my way.

More than anything else, our families and our children need our prayers.  This is an unsettling time to raise children.  The peer pressure alone our children face can be overwhelming for them.  We must hold our children before the Lord daily.

In addition, I might add, no matter the age of your children, they always need our prayers.  I would like to see this become a intergenerational group.  Those who have already raised their children and are now enjoying having  grandchildren, can be of great help and support to those still raising small children. Even if you don’t have children of your own, you have plenty of children in our church to call your own and these children can certainly use your support and prayers.

I am asking all women of the church who are concerned for children to please consider joining this prayer group.  It is my hope that this group would serve, not only as a prayer group to uplift our children, but also as a group that will help women with their own spiritual journey.

Please feel free to call or email me if you are interested in attending @pwatterson@zoominternet.net or 724-622-2514.
