We get together for our lessons during Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. We have just finished the stories about Abraham and Sarah and their families. We are starting new stories about Jesus growing up and being baptized, also calling his disciples together. Renee Watterson helps us with some active music, in marching and motion to songs. The group's favorite is "Deep and Wide". We also got to sing upstairs with the older children's group. We are having a LOT of fun! So, if you have a little one ages 2-5, come and join us every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. until after church.
We are also looking for some newer or gently used toys. Please let Brenda Oliver, Jodi Goebel or Renee Watterson know if you can spend some time and help us clean out some old and damaged toys. Finally, we really could use two good TOY BOXES if someone is getting rid of theirs...
Lots to think and pray about...how might you be able to help?
Thanks in advance...
Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school classes
Kindergarten and Grades One and Two
Sandi Rectenwald
We have been enjoying our journey which began at Christmas, learning about the Angel visiting Mary, Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and the wonderful story of Jesus' birth. Last Sunday, the journey continued with the story of Jesus as a boy, staying behind at the temple to talk with the teachers. As the events unfold, we will be caught up in the greatest story ever told! If you know a child who would like to join our class, we would be very happy to have them give us a try!
Grades Three through Five

This is what we will be learning about this month:
A Promise of Hope (Isaiah 9:1-7)
Jesus is Baptized (Matthew 3:1-17)

Calling the Fishermen (Mark 1:16-20)
We will also be practicing for God's Champions
Grades Six through Eight
Tiffannie Widmaier
Grades Nine through Twelve
Jerry Rectenwald
Having already explored such bedrock topics as beginning and nurturing a personal relationship with Jesus, to the basic rules for understanding the Bible, the Sr. High class will begin discussing the concept of doctrine, with a close look at the church's great statements of the faith, such as the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. From where do these doctrinal statements derive? Why are they often part of our liturgy? And what is their importance for us today? If you are a Senior High students and you would like to better understand why the church believes what it believes; and what doctrine means for your life right now, please join us!
Adult Sunday School Classes
Altruistic Class
John and Steven Miller
The Altruistic Class focuses on fellowship and good discussion. We study a series of books by James W. Moore. Intimidated? You shouldn't be. We discuss one chapter per week and each chapter is different - so don't worry about joining our class halfway through the year. You'll fit right in! We meet in the Altruistic room just outside the sanctuary every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. We hope to see you there!!
Shepherd's Class
Rev. Jim Cannistraci
The best way I can describe what we do in The Shepherd’s Class is on "the job training for how God wants us to live each day!” So if you’re scratching your head and saying what does that mean, please keep reading!!!
The main thing we do is talk about how to discover what God wants us to do with each day of our life. Many people describe the Bible as God’s “instruction manual” or “rule book” or “recipe book” for how God wants us to live our life. The problem is, how do we understand what words written over 2000 years ago mean in today’s world. But I think it goes deeper than that, I see God inviting us to explore a deeply personal question, “how can the words of the Bible offer a personal message from God that shows us how to find peace, joy, and meaning in life by serving Him.”
Currently, we’re studying a former #1 New York Times bestseller entitled, The Prayer of Jabez, written by Rev. Bruce Wilkinson. We also use the Study Book that goes along with it. The Study Book directs us to amazing passages from both the Old and New Testaments. So we start with a modern book written in today’s language we’re directed back to the timeless words of the Bible that are as exciting and important as they were over 2000 years ago . And the great thing is, you don’t even need to understand Greek or Hebrew!!!
Please stop in and visit with us on Sunday mornings, or call me and we can talk further!
United Fellowship Class
Lois Hoffman
The United Fellowship meets every Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. in the Lounge (the room off the Library area). On Sunday, January 22 we are beginning a new series about "Hope". If you are not participating in a Sunday School class at this time, you might want to consider joining us. All are welcome.
